I started Ganz Tire as a natural progression to the ever changing tire world. Ganz Tire is going back to my original roots. We plan to wholesale tires around the world to customers who need specialized services and specialized products. Ganz Tire has over 90 years of experience in every type of tire product. I personally have been a tire wholesaler, and tire manufacturer for over 25 years.
My grandfather started Ganz Tire in 1922 as a gas station and as a used tire shop. My father David Ganz came into the tire business and created the wholesale division of Ganz Tire in 1960. By the 1980’s David had built the wholesale tire business to $16 million sales with a worldwide customer base. In 1986 David Ganz bought 2 divisions of BF Goodrich and created the new product line called, Galaxy Tire, an out-sourced farm and Off-the-Road tire products. I joined Ganz Tire in 1986 to help build the Galaxy product line. Ganz Tire was merged in 1991 to form Galaxy Tire & Wheel Inc owned by the entire Ganz Family. Galaxy product line went on to become a tier 1 tire product supplier to OEM’s such as; John Deere, CNH, Caterpillar, Terex and many more.
In 2005 Galaxy Tire & Wheel and had built itself to over $100 million in sales. In September 2005 Galaxy was merged with Dynamic Tire of Canada, creating GPX International Tire Inc. GPX grew to over $500 million in sales by end of 2008. In December of 2009 GPX International was forced into bankruptcy due to the US Government’s lawsuit on anti-dumping and counter veiling duties.
In 2010 I bought Maine Industrial Tire with the management team. The company was doing $38 million in sales and had factories in Canada, US and China. Maine Industrial Tire was sold in December of 2012 with $82 million in sales.had factories in Canada, US and China. Maine Industrial Tire was sold in December of 2012 with $82 million in sales.
